Last month I posted the news that
Disney had high hopes for its live-action adaptation of the popular video game,
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The studio had a script and was feverishly looking for a hot male lead to play the Prince;
Jake Gyllenhaal and
Disney were in talks.
Today, The Hollywood Insider, confirms that Jake has been cast in the lead role.
Filming is set to begin in July with director
Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire). If the movie is a success it will no doubt turn into a film franchise, which I think will be a good career move, plus we'll get to see a lot more of Jake!
