Valerie Harper On Surviving Cancer


Recently, actress Valerie Harper was a guest on The Meredith Vieira Show. The Emmy-award winning TV star shares how a positive attitude has helped her overcome cancer, three years after doctors had said she only had months to live.

The legendary Harper, now 76, has a long and distinguished career in theatre and film. 

In 2010, she garnered critical acclaim and a Tony Award nomination as Best Actress for her performance as Talullah Bankhead in the play "Looped". She was nominated for a Golden Globe for roles in the movies, "Freebie and the Bean" (1974), and "Chapter Two" (1979). 

Harper is a four time Emmy Award winner who is best known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern in two 1970's classic television series, "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and its spin-off, "Rhoda".
