5 Questions You Can Only Ask A Gay Tour Guide When You Are in Paris

Written by Shane Smith, Editor, Stonewall Gazette

When travelling abroad for the first time it's very important to know as much as you can about the destination before you leave. Paris, France is one of the most visited places on the planet but how gay-friendly is it?

The Gay Locals has an informative article, "5 Questions You Can Only Ask A Gay Tour Guide" and it offers some solid tips for the newbie traveller. A very good example would be the areas to avoid. The Gay Locals explains, "Every city has their safer and less safe places, which can also change at different times of the day (notably nighttime). What’s safe for one group can be different for another, i.e. for the gays. Some neighborhoods are just not as tolerant as others. Once again, a gay guide should know this, general[ly] because they live in the city and it applies to them, too. We know a thing or two about this in Paris." They add, "and [what if] you're not sure if your guide is the type of person to talk about backrooms and cruising." Sage advice for anyone thinking of going to the City of Lights. Read more here.
