Angel Ayala (L), a parolee with a long history of violence, was arrested and charged Friday with the kidnapping, car jacking and robbery of a gay man from Hermosa Beach, California. Ayala is being held at the Hermosa Beach jail without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Monday. Police don't know how long the two men knew each other and they are not releasing either the victim's name or the social networking site used (media reports have identified it as Craigslist). Most disturbing is the fact that Hermosa Beach police believe Ayala may have committed the same crime against other gay men in the Bell Gardens and West Hollywood areas of Los Angeles.

"Hermosa Beach detectives determined Ayala contacted a male Asian Hermosa Beach resident on April 1 through a social networking site, then met at the victim's apartment. Police said Ayala had a handgun and told the victim to put a television, computer and camera into the victim's vehicle, then demanded the man withdraw money from an ATM. He eventually ordered the victim out of the car in El Segundo, and the victim then called Hermosa Beach police.
