Grace Jones slams Lady Gaga

Pop diva, Grace Jones recently did an interview with Simon Hattenstone for the UK Guardian. Jones seems to be a little bit jealous of Lady Gaga's success. According to Jones, she was asked to collaborate with Gaga but turned her down. If you are not familiar with Jones' career the article does a decent job of profiling her. You can also check out her wiki page here. I'm not a big Grace Jones fan myself, but she was huge in the gay club scene, back in the day. Below are a few quotes from the interview about Lady Gaga that I thought were interesting:

Via UK Guardian:
A number of artists have asked to collaborate with her. Was Lady Gaga one of them?

Grace Jones: "I just don't play with other acts as a rule," she says, with rare discretion.

What does she think of her?

Grace Jones: "I really don't think of her at all. I go about my business."

Has she [Lady Gaga] copied her?

Grace Jones: "Well, you know, I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn, and that does kind of piss me off."

Is she talented?

Grace Jones: "I wouldn't go to see her."

So, did she ask to play with her?

Grace Jones: "Yes, she did, but I said no. I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually."
