'The Odyssey' in Vancouver Holding Fundraiser Tonight for Victims of Pulse Nightclub Massacre

The Odyssey Bar and Nightclub, in my hometown of Vancouver, BC, is holding a fundraiser tonight for the victims and families of the Pulse Nightclub Massacre. Brandon Folkes, the general manager of 'The Odyssey' told Global News that he cried when he heard the news. “It was such a shock,” says Folkes. “It’s something that you would not think would happen in 2016. It seems like something we have progressed beyond, especially with the [same-sex] marriage being legalized in the United States and around the world. It’s definitely a wake-up call.”

Folkes says they have lined up more than 25 performers (Alma Bitches, Ilona, Coco Klein, Raye Sunshine Kebby, Dynasty, Amy Grindhouse, Mina Murcury, Miss Understood, Glitteris, Rose Butch, Katy Hairy, and many more!) Also, the Vancouver Queer Film Festival will be showing a few short films in commemoration.

The fundraiser starts at 9 p.m. Entry is by donation.
