As gay men we never know when the next attack will take place. For one gay man it happened as he made his way toward a vigil for the Orlando shooting victims on June 12, 2016. Dallas Groot, from Vancouver, BC, shares his story from his hospital bed in the emotional video below. Groot told DailyXtra: “At the time, it felt like a punch to the back,” he says. “But it was later on discovered that a weapon was used.”
