January Marie Lapuz

[New Westminster, British Columbia] On the day his jury trial was scheduled to begin, Charles Jameson (Jamie) Neel pleaded guilty Monday in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster to manslaughter in the death of 26-year old January Marie Lapuz. On Sept. 29, 2012, police responded to a call and found Lapuz stabbed in her New Westminster home. She was rushed to hospital and died the following day. As a transgender woman, Lapuz was a well liked volunteer at Sher Vancouver. Source: Canada.com
