Tony Award winning gay-themed musical, Falsettos, set to make high school theatrical history

The Tony Award winning gay-themed musical, Falsettos, is being performed for the first time at a high school in Concord, Massachusetts, making high school theatrical history.

Falsettos is the story of Marvin, a man married to a woman whom he leaves to start a new life as an openly gay man. Marvin begins a relationship with another man and the play explores the effects of coming out on Marvin's family.

The musical was co-written by William Finn and James Lapine
"I can’t quite believe that a public high school is doing this. It seems either very brave or very stupid to me. But honestly, it’s wonderful that this is being done. It makes me think that high school must be a much more civilized place than it was when I was a student," said Finn.
