
Actor and musician Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith will co-host the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo this December. The concert to honour Nobel laureates, to be named Oct. 9, traditionally features talent from around the world.
CBC reports:
"The opportunity to recognize the laureate's contributions to the world peace movement will be an awe-inspiring experience," the Smiths said in a joint statement. "We are both humbled and honoured to take part in the Nobel Peace Prize Concert this year."
This year's lineup in Norway:
- Haitian-American musician Wyclef Jean
- U.S. country singer-songwriter Toby Keith
- U.S. disco queen Donna Summer
- Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi
- Blues-jazz duet Amadou & Mariam from Mali
The show is held Dec. 11, the day after the Nobel Prizes, created by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel, are handed out. Nobel died Dec. 10, 1896.
