Legendary Actress Lauren Bacall To Finally Receive An Academy Award


Actress Lauren Bacall, who gave memorable performances in To Have and Have Not and The Big Sleep, will be given an honorary Oscar this November. Bacall burst into public consciousness in 1944 with her sultry debut with Humphrey Bogart — later her husband — in To Have and Have Not. Her later films included Key Largo, How to Marry a Millionaire, Murder on the Orient Express , Misery, and The Mirror has Two Faces (her performance in the The Mirror has Two Faces earned her a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination).

The award will be presented on Saturday, November, 14, 2009 at the Academy Governor’s Ball in Los Angeles.
