Lady GaGa will be honored with the Rising Star title on October 2 in New York City along with Beyonce Knowles who will be handed with Woman of the Year prize. Beside celebrating the most powerful and talented women in the music business, this event is also held in conjunction with the Women In Music Power Players List issue, which recognizes the top female music executives who are leading the industry with their artistic and business vision. "Lady GaGa is one of those rare examples of a truly unique artist with mass appeal," Bill Werde, Billboard's Editorial Director, explained on why Lady GaGa deserves the title. "She has established herself as one of today's top songwriters, and the whole world is waiting to see what her next outrageous but brilliant move or style will be.
