Liev Schreiber 'giddy' over dressing in drag

I've never heard the words giddy and drag mentioned in the same breath before (!). Here's a quote in People from actor Liev Schreiber (pictured) about playing the role of a cross-dressing ex-Marine in director Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock:

"It was exhilaratingly humiliating. But I completely became giddy in a strange way the moment I put on the dress."

Alrighty, then.

And how did his girlfriend, actress Naomi Watts, react to seeing him in women's clothes?

Well, Schreiber says:

"She was horrified! It flipped her out. She was in shock for 30 seconds. Then she started to crack jokes."

Horrified?

Flipped out?

Shock?

Geez, these people are actors and the words horrified, flipped and shock were used simply because he put on a dress and makeup for a movie?

I'm surprised by their reaction. Aren't these two supposed to be liberal and LGBT friendly?

What drama queens!
