Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Sony Pictures is in negotiations with Angelina Jolie to star in the spy film Edwin A. Salt. The movie was to have Tom Cruise as the lead. Acclaimed director Philip Noyce is set to direct. Entertainment Weekly observes that for a major studio to change it's lead character from male to female is unique in Hollywood. Score one for the ladies! Jolie is major star with a proven track record at the box-office so it's really a no-brainer for Sony.source
